A Texas father has been arrested after being shot by police refusing to drop his gun down and detectives say he had left an incriminating video for kids.
48-year-old Trent Paschal was charged with murder over the fatal shooting of his wife Savannah Paschal on Wednesday.
Neighbor Donald Riddick described how the couple never had issues until that fateful day when Savannah sought help from a neighbor before running to her mom’s home.
Trent was hiding in the shower waiting for his wife to return. Once she did, he ambushed her and her mom who came with her and shot her twice in the stomach.
YouTube video of the husband later emerged, in which he apologizes to his two children and tells them that he loved them citing infidelity as the motive behind the tragedy.
“I can’t believe he would leave something like that, telling his kids he loved them,” Riddick said. “How can you love your kids if you’re going to kill their momma? He was in there making that video before she came back.”
Savannah’s mom managed to escape, police said. Trent sustained gunshot injuries that are not life-threatening.
