A New York City teen was gunned down in a Bronx park where he had been playfully throwing water at parkgoers on an excessively hot day Tuesday.
The 17-year-old boy was shot in the head and arm at around 8:15 p.m. inside Starlight Park near the corner of Sheridan Boulevard and E. 173rd Street in Crotona Park East.
The suspect took off, leaving behind two spent 9-mm shell casings. He was reportedly dressed in a black colored hoodie, black sweatpants, and a black ski mask.
Police identified the victim as Darrell Harris. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he died.
The teen reportedly lived in Longwood, less than a mile from the crime scene. No arrests were made in connection with the shooting.
