An Illinois father allegedly claimed he was “overstimulated and overwhelmed” when he caused his baby three brain bleeds and a broken arm.
The Department of Children and Family Services was alerted that a 2-month-old was brought to the hospital on June 2, covered in bruises and signs of abuse.
The baby’s mother told police she left the baby with 24-year-old Gabriel King while she was at work, and when she returned, the baby “was screaming in a way she had never heard before.”
Doctors said the baby suffered three separate brain bleeds and his arm was broken near the shoulder.
King initially claimed the baby fell and he grabbed him from the arm, causing the fracture.
He also claimed the infant “might have hit something and that he may have handled the baby too roughly, but he could not recall much of what transpired that day.”
