Body of man found floating in East River as cops continue searching for 2 missing teens

Authorities in New York are investigating after the body of a man was found in the East River, as police continue their search for two missing teens believed dead.

Officers with the NYPD Harbor Unit were called to the area near the Brooklyn Bridge just after 6 a.m. over reports of a body floating in the waters.

  • The body was said to be that of a man in his 30s. Police brought the victim to Pier 16 in Lower Manhattan to be transferred to the medical examiner’s office.

    Police were on Friday looking for the body of high school senior Bandon Pino, who jumped into the river off the Staten Island Ferry after leaving a goodbye note to his family.

    In addition to the 17-year-old, cops were also looking for the remains of a 15-year-old girl who went into the river off Randalls Island on May 30 and never resurfaced.
