Illinois man charged with murder after stabbing 2 sisters to death

An Illinois man was charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed his two younger sisters to death, leading cops in a days-long manhunt.

Jalonie Jenkins, 25, was arrested at a Metra station in Downers Grove late Sunday for the Wednesday murders of his sisters, Eyani Jones, 10, and Janiya Jenkins, 21.

The two victims were found stabbed to death at a home in the 1600 block of McKool Avenue at around 8 p.m. by their neighbor.

  • The victim’s 7-year-old brother came to the neighbor’s home asking for help after her daughter heard screaming while on the phone with Eyani, her best friend.

    “I walked up the stairs and I saw blood and stuff everywhere. I see the oldest girl laid there, I see the little girl she’s laid out. I’m on the phone with the mom. I’m telling her, ‘Oh my God, your kids are gone,’” the neighbor recalled.

    “I ain’t never witnessed nothing like this. At the end of the day, this little girl has spent nights at my house. We even went to hotels together. This is my daughter’s best friend.”

    “It’s just heartbreaking, and it hurts real bad. It hurts so bad.”
