Four people, including children, were killed Monday after a car crashed into an after-school program building in Chatham, Illinois.
The car struck multiple people outside the YNOT after-school daycare on Breckenridge Road at around 3:20 p.m. before going through the building.
Three victims were fatally hit outside the building, and one inside; police said that their ages ranged from 4 to 18.
Several others sustained injuries and were rushed to area hospitals.
“My administration is closely monitoring the crash in Chatham,” Gov. JB Pritzker said.
“As we continue to learn more, please follow the guidance of all local authorities.”
“Let’s wrap our arms around the community tonight as we receive updates on the situation.”
