Child actor Sophie Nyweide dies at 24: ‘A life ended too soon’

Young actress Sophie Nyweide, who starred as a six-year-old in the title role of the movie “Bella,” has died at the age of 24.

Nyweide’s family announced that she passed away on April 14 but provided no information about the cause of death.

“Sophie was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend, and new aunt,” the family shared.

    Starting her onscreen career in 2006 as the title character of the movie “Bella”, the Vermont native starred in “Mammoth” and “Noah” alongside Gael Garcia Bernal, Anthony Hopkins, and Emma Watson.

    “Sophie. A life ended too soon. May it not be in vain. May we all learn from her brief life on earth and do better. Yes, we must all protect our children and do better,” an obituary read.
