Cocoa news, Florida news.

Authorities in Florida arrested a man who allegedly shot himself and lied about the shooting to garner a coworker’s sympathy.

Police said Alexander Lefort, 30, parked his vehicle out of view of surveillance cameras outside a FedEx warehouse in March 2024.

Lefort reportedly told detectives that he was shot in the abdomen by a man wearing a balaclava and hoodie, but police said he was the only person caught on surveillance footage from outside the warehouse.

Police searched Lefort’s car and found a 9mm handgun and a first aid kit. A shell casing recovered from the scene matched Lefort’s gun.
