Girl, 4, mauled to death by family’s 7 dogs after grandmother’s sudden death

An Indiana woman and her granddaughter were found dead inside a Huntingburg home on Monday, police said.

Investigators believe 53-year-old Olivia Regalado died from a medical emergency related to a preexisting health condition, leaving 4-year-old Evelynn Lopez unattended with seven dogs.

For unknown reasons, the six pit bulls and one poodle-mix attacked the girl. She succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.

All seven dogs were sedated and euthanized. No criminal charges were filed in connection with the incident.
