FSU shooter IDed as son of sheriff’s deputy; posted chilling message before killing 2, wounding 6 at university campus

The gunman who opened fire at Florida State University on Thursday, killing two people and injuring six, was identified as the son of a Leon County Sheriff’s deputy.

Phoenix Ikner, 20, who also sustained injuries in the mass shooting and is in police custody, reportedly used his mother’s firearms to carry out the carnage.

The shooter was described as “steeped in the Leon County Sheriff’s Office family.” While his motives remain unknown, a chilling social media post he reportedly made has since emerged.

    Ikner also recently posted, mocking fellow university students protesting the presidential election result.

    “These people are usually pretty entertaining, usually not for good reasons,” he wrote, describing himself as a political science major.

    “I think it’s a little too late, he’s [Trump] already going to be inaugurated on Jan. 20 and there’s not really much you can do unless you outright revolt, and I don’t think anyone wants that.”
