Estranged husband sought after custodian found slain at Nashville school

The estranged husband of a school custodian is sought in connection to her on-campus death, police in Nashville said.

Niurka Alfonso-Acevedo, 52, was found stabbed to death outside Chadwell Elementary School, where she had been working as a custodian since 2024.

  • A staff member found the victim at around 6 a.m., before students arrived, and called 911.

    Investigators believe the woman’s 54-year-old Raul Rubio-Perez had been laying in wait for her in the parking lot before carrying out the crime.

    “Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000 in homicide cases,” the Metro Nashville Police Department said.
