Reno news, Nevada news.

A Nevada father was charged in connection to last week’s death of his 5-year-old daughter, authorities said.

The victim was found cold to the touch with various traumatic injuries to her face and body inside her family’s Reno home.

Investigators questioned Nicholas Loving and his wife about the girl’s injuries and were given different stories.

The girl’s mother ultimately admitted that Loving beat the girl and kicked her before dragging her by the hood of her sweatshirt.

She also recalled hearing screaming and a thud consistent with the girl being thrown five days before the girl’s death.

Court records revealed that the victim slept on a crib-sized mattress on the floor inside a makeshift 5-by-5 foot cubby while her two sisters slept on a “nice queen-sized bed.”

Loving’s wife also told detectives that he planned to bury the slain girl’s body in the backyard and flee to Virginia, but she objected, telling him that the body would rot.

The father was arrested and charged with felony child abuse, resulting in substantial bodily harm.

Criminal charges against the mother are pending the results of the ongoing investigation.
