One person was killed, and at least six others were shot at a large gathering at a Crosby gas station late Saturday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting occurred at around 10 p.m. at a gas station on Crosby-Lynchburg, where nearly 100 people were gathered in a parking lot.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the gathering may have been for some type of benefit, and the crowd “seemed to be having a good time” before the shooting.
“We don’t know exactly what was happening, we’re told it wasn’t anything violent just something that was happening here,” Gonzalez said.
Five men and two women, ages 16 to 25, were shot. One succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital.
Police said that no suspects have been arrested in connection to the shooting.
