US tourist, 23, beaten to death at luxurious Bahamas resort

A young Maryland man was found dead on a beach Friday, hours after arriving with his parents at a luxurious resort in the Bahamas.

Dinari McAlmont, 23, was reportedly beaten to death after leaving his family's dining at around 9 p.m. to retrieve his coat.

The family was staying at the Atlantis Paradise Island when tragedy struck. Witnesses told McAlmont’s parents that he had been involved in an altercation after spitting on someone.

    McAlmont’s mother, Michelle, said he was badly beaten and that his hair was full of sand and his remains looked “unrecognizable.”

    “They beat my son down in the sand,” she said.
