A gas station worker is dead after he was stabbed 43 times by a mentally ill man at his workplace.
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when 28-year-old Michael Miller entered the Kwik Trip store where Dennis Vosika worked with a large knife and started destroying things.
“It feels like a nightmare we can’t wake up from,” the victim’s partner Kelsey Ogren said.
Ogren said her late boyfriend was a big fan of Timberwolves and had been battling kidney failure for 15 years.
“Despite the odds against him, just the brightest personality, resilient, strong, just an amazing guy.”
The suspect suffered from brain damage and PTSD and was under guardianship, living in a group home not far from the store.
“I’m an advocate for people who struggle with mental health. It’s not something that you choose, but I do not believe that this individual should have been accessible to the public. He’s clearly a danger,” Ogren said.
