A Missouri mother is behind bars after she was accused of leaving her four children unattended during severe weather conditions last week.
Crystal Ray, 27, allegedly left the four children, all under the age of 10, alone at home during a “severe weather event” on March 14.
“There were brush fires, power outages, downed power lines, and significant debris in the area during the storm,” the criminal complaint stated.
A family member requested a welfare check on the children, sending police to the home.
The children were reportedly left alone for “several hours,” were “extremely upset” and told officers the mother “left while the sirens were going off.”
Ray, who “exhibited signs of intoxication” during her arrest, allegedly attacked officers and “resisted by wrestling” and “hitting and kicking” the cops.
She was deemed a danger to her children after threatening “to kill the reporting party” and booked on $75,000 cash-only bail on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.
