Mystery surrounds the deaths of two Lawrenceville twin brothers after their bodies were discovered at the top of a Hiwassee, Georgia mountain earlier this month.
Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis, 19, were found dead by hikers at the top of Bell Mountain in Georgia on March 8.
The twins had booked a flight to Boston to visit friends a day earlier. Police found the plane tickets in their wallets.
“How did they end up out in the mountains?” the brothers’ aunt asked. “They don’t hike out there, they’ve never been out there.”
“They don’t know anything about Hiawassee, Georgia…so how did they end up right there?”
Investigators said the teens had gunshot wounds and their deaths appeared to be the result of a “murder suicide” but autopsy results remain undisclosed.
“They’re very protective of each other. They love each other. They’re like inseparable. I couldn’t imagine them hurting each other because I’ve never seen them get into a fistfight before,” the brothers’ uncle said.
