A 70-year-old Wisconsin man has allegedly confessed to murdering his wife Sunday after she rambled at him for hours, police said.
New Richmond Police officers responded to the couple’s house at around 2 p.m. after receiving a call reporting that Gordon Charles Laakso made concerning statements that he may have harmed his 68-year-old wife Mary Laakso.
The suspect told cops that Mary “rambled” at him for seven hours before things got out of control. He claimed that he did not know what else to say to the officers.
Laakso then started packing his suitcase, telling officers he was going with them. Investigators found bloody gloves and multiple firearms inside the home.
When asked where Mary could be found, Laakso reportedly answered, “Oh, you didn’t find her? She’s dead.”
Mary’s body was located about two hours later on the edge of a cornfield in rural Polk County north of New Richmond.
