A Wisconsin boy is in custody, accused of killing his mother inside their Caledonia home late Tuesday, police said.
Officers received a call about a boy who had likely murdered his mother at a home on E. White Manor Court shortly after 10:30 p.m.
Once at the scene, the officers located the teenager leaving the home through the front door and arrested him without incident.
His mother was inside the home, suffering from stab wounds and blunt force trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbors expressed their shock over the despicable crime, describing the family as loving and happy.
“I’m devastated, I can’t believe it. They were nice people, nice kids. They had an above ground pool in the backyard, the kids would go over there, I’d go and sit with the mother when the kids were in the pool and talk,” a next-door neighbor said.
“They’re good people, it shouldn’t happen to good people like that.”
