Waukesha news, Wisconsin news.

A 17-year-old boy stands accused of killing his parents after the bodies of his mother and stepfather were found inside a Wisconsin home Friday.

Nikita “Niki” Casap did not show up for classes for two weeks while he had a perfect attendance leading officials at Waukesha West High School to request a wellness check at his family’s home.

That’s when police found the bodies of Casap’s mother Tatiana Casap and his stepfather Donald Mayer laying in dried blood.

  • “It was awful, the worst thing a mother could ever have happen,” Mayer’s mother Judith said.

The suspect allegedly left the home with the family’s dog and a gun and traveled across several states including Illinois, Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado.

On Saturday, he was arrested in a traffic stop in WaKeeney, Kansas. Detectives said that evidence was recovered from his vehicle.

“It’s very difficult to accept that Niki killed his mother and father. It just doesn’t make any sense,” Mayer said.
