Two people are dead after a small plane collision at Marana Regional Airport in Arizona, officials said.
A Lancair and a Cessna collided midair while upwind of runway 12 at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

“The Cessna landed uneventfully; the Lancair impacted terrain near runway 3 and a post-impact fire ensued,” the National Transportation Safety Board said.
There were two people onboard each plane, the Federal Aviation Administration said. Two fatalities were confirmed.
The Marana Airport is an “uncontrolled field” that does not have an operating air traffic control tower.
