A New York City boy was fatally stabbed in a Queens street after a fight involving two large groups of youngsters Friday afternoon, witnesses said.
The 14-year-old was stabbed in the abdomen around 3:30 p.m. in Sunnyside near 38th Street and Queens Boulevard, the NYPD said.
He was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center where he died. Officers found a roughly a knife with a 6-inch-long blade at the scene.
Authorities are looking for “a large group” of people involved in the incident that may have started as a fight at a local McDonald’s before spilling onto the street.
“It was a group of, like, 15 or 20 kids. They were facing off to fight,” an eyewitness recalled.
“It was one group in ski masks and another in backpacks. They took over the whole parking lot. They were definitely going after someone.”
