New York City news, New York news.

The decomposed body found off a Queens highway earlier this week has been identified as a 57-year-old realtor and Bitcoin investor, police in New York said.

Emmanuel Moncoeur died from severe blunt force trauma to the head. His hands and feet were tied together when his decomposed body was found covered in bleach off the Clearview Expressway near Union Park Tuesday morning.

“He’s not a person who’s gonna bother people,” Moncoeur’s longtime friend and roommate said. “I never heard him involve himself in the monkey business or bad deal.”

“With over 15 years in real estate, he’s got a good reputation. I always hear him talking on the phone with people, making deals.”

“It was so unusual. He’s not the type of person [to] spend more than three days without calling, because we talk all the time. We always discuss about something. We talk about Bitcoin a lot, because he’s so involved in those investments.”

Moncoeur’s landlord described him as a respectful man who would often encourage him to invest in Bitcoin.

“He’s a good boy. I feel very sad for him,” he said.
