Prosecutors said Tuesday that a Seattle mother accused of killing her teen son inflicted more than 1,000 injuries before he died from pain.
Da’metrius Robinson’s heart stopped after enduring three hours of torture at the hands of 29-year-old Denaya Young, his mother.
The incident took place on January 30 and was witnessed by the 14-year-old boy’s siblings and his mother’s boyfriend who was too scared to intervene.
The King County medical examiner said the boy suffered 1,172 wounds as Young disciplined him with an HDMI cord for not completing his chores.
He begged his mother, who is not his legal guardian, to stop because he felt dizzy, but she did not believe him.
Robinson died after his heart could no longer sustain sending blood to the many wounded areas of his body, the medical examiner explained.
Young allegedly confessed to punching, choking, and beating the boy with the HDMI cord on previous occasions.
