Trump says ‘lot of mistakes’; obsolete air traffic control system led to deadly DC plane collision

Washington DC news, Washington news.

President Donald Trump blamed the deadly collision between a passenger jet and an Army chopper over the Potomac River on an ”obsolete” air traffic control system and “a lot of mistakes.”

Trump made the remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday as he discussed the Jan. 29 disaster that claimed 67 lives.

“It’s amazing that it happened. And I think that’s going to be used for good. I think what is going to happen is we’re all going to sit down and do a great computerized system for our control towers. Brand-new, not pieced together, obsolete,” he said.
