Seattle mother arrested after spanking 14-year-old son to death with extension cord

A Seattle mother was taken into custody in connection to the Thursday death of her 14-year-old son, police said.

The woman called police at around 2 p.m. to report that her son became unresponsive after a “domestic violence altercation” that “went too far.”

First responders found the victim unresponsive with “multiple injuries” when they arrived at the home in the 4000 block of 14th Avenue South.

He was rushed to Harborview Medical Center where he died. His 29-year-old mother was arrested on homicide charges.

    She added that she ordered him to remove his clothes and began spanking him with an extension cord before shoving him against a wall, causing the boy to hit his head.

    The mother said the boy went limp but she kept beating him for about an hour until he became unresponsive.

    She was arrested and made her first court appearance on Friday. Her bond was set at $3 million.
