Detroit news, Michigan news.

Prosecutors charged a Detroit mother with murder on Wednesday, months after she allegedly killed her 9-year-old son and buried his body in the backyard.

The remains of Zemar King were discovered in a shallow grave on Jan. 6 by the landlord as he prepared the home for new tenants.

Investigators believe Zemar’s 41-year-old mother smothered him to death on Oct. 24, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said.

“I have been a prosecutor for a long time, and I often say that I have seen it all. The horrors of this child abuse case defy that,” Worthy added.
