A Kentucky man was arrested Monday after he was found living with his dead wife’s body, police in Highlands Heights said.
Tyler Hern has been charged with abuse of a corpse after officers responded to his home on Grey Stable Lane Monday.
Hern was found living with the decaying body of his 37-year-old wife Laura Hern that was laying on their bed.
Investigators believe Laura Hern had been deceased for more than a week. Tyler Hern reportedly used his wife’s cell phone to text her concerned relatives as he tried to hide her death.
“Through investigation, Hern admitted to utilizing his wife’s phone to text family members when they were checking on her well-being in an attempt to conceal her death,” authorities said.
Laura Hern’s cause and manner of death remain unclear. Tyler Hern is being held at the Campbell County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.
