A Miami man was taken into custody Thursday after he allegedly beat four homeless men with a stick killing two.
Just after 6 a.m. Thursday, officers were sent to a downtown train station where a 30-year-old man wielding a stick was beating homeless people.
The first victim was attacked near the train station, the second further down the street, and a couple across the streets.
The officers chased down the assailant and arrested him. Authorities said he had no criminal history except for some “minor run-ins with police.”
“This is a horrible incident. The officers on the scene and the Miami Police Department are appalled at this display of unprovoked violence,” said Miami Police Chief Manny Morales.
