A serial stabber with a lengthy criminal history was arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old boy in the Bronx.
Waldo Mejia, 29, has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree over the killing of Caleb Rios.
The boy was standing on a corner outside the Mitchell Houses in the Bronx Friday morning when Mejia allegedly approached and chased him.
The unprovoked attack ended with the fatal stabbing of the teen who was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital.
Police reviewed surveillance footage of the attack and recognized Mejia from an earlier stabbing that occurred on the subway stairs of the Third Avenue- 138th Street station.
There Mejia allegedly stabbed a 38-year-old man from behind. The victim survived his wounds.
Mejia’s criminal record dates back to 2015 and includes burglary, arson, and possession of a gun.
