A Louisiana man suffering from schizophrenia was charged with the murders of his baby son, sister, and nephew, authorities said.

The 30-year-old man started “hearing voices” the day before he fatally stabbed his 1-year-old son, his 40-year-old sister and the woman’s 10-year-old son.

A relative said that the suspect and his child had been living with his sister before Thursday’s massacre.

“No one in that home survived because the mental health system failed him,” the relative said.

“Had he been committed, he would be where he needed to be today, and my other family members would be alive.”
