Couple dead, toddler critical after suspected murder-suicide in Phoenix townhome

A Phoenix couple was killed and their toddler remains in critical condition after a tragic murder-suicide, police said late Sunday.

Andrew Corona, 38, and Ashlee Corona, 35, were found dead along with their injured child who sustained a gunshot wound in the incident.

Police responded to reports of an argument at a townhome on 99th Avenue and Indian School Road west of Phoenix at around 8:30 p.m.

  • Officers found the couple’s bodies and transported the 3-year-old boy to a hospital. It is believed that Andrew shot Ashlee and the boy before turning the gun on himself.

    Horrified neighbors recalled hearing banging on windows and screams before hearing the gunshots rang out inside the couple’s townhome.

    They watched in sorrow as first responders carried the bloodied toddler from the home.

    A motive remains unclear but the neighbors said they constantly heard arguing between the couple.
