An Ohio man reportedly confessed to slamming a 1-year-old girl’s head against the floor when she wouldn’t stop crying.
Michael Mayor, 34, was arrested in connection to the Dec. 20 death of the baby “as a result of the injuries inflicted upon her” by Mayor on Dec. 5.
Mayor’s wife, who works as a babysitter, noticed the baby was “pale, had bruises on her head, and she was unsure of where they came from.”
Earlier in the day, she left the victim in Mayor’s care while she took other children to school.
Mayor admitted “he shook [the baby], and when she cried louder, he began to slam her on the floor of the bedroom. He stated this was not done on the blankets and he did this several times until she stopped crying.”
He added that he thought the baby had fallen asleep and left her on the floor. The child suffered a skull fracture, subdural hematoma, and “complex” injuries caused by a massive impact.
