A Michigan man is behind bars accused of killing his mother and a neighbor last weekend.
Roger Albert Schweda, 40, allegedly killed his mother, 70-year-old Shari Schweda, in a “gruesome scene” before sending his other victim, Thomas Farnsworth, an ominous voicemail.
Schweda allegedly told his 57-year-old neighbor that his mother was dead and that he couldn’t enter their residence.
Farnsworth called 911 and requested a welfare check at the suspect’s house before going physically to the home.
As he pulled into the driveway, Schweda allegedly shot him. The 911 dispatchers could hear the gunshot and Farnsworth did not speak again.
The suspect fled the scene in his slain mother’s car but was arrested miles away in a traffic stop.
Schweda was charged with two counts of open murder and two felony firearms counts. He was held at the Jackson County Jail without bail.
