A missing hiker’s remains were found near an Arizona trail nearly eight months after she vanished, authorities said.
52-year-old Amber Bretsch Barnett’s remains were found in the White Tank Mountains near Waddell on Thursday, the Missing in Arizona group announced on Facebook.

“Amber’s remains were found off a hiking trail in the White Tank Mountains. We are grateful her family can bring her home and lay her to rest. Keeping them close in our hearts,” the post read.
Barnett’s abandoned silver Kia Rio was found on April 4 at the park, with her keys, cellphone, and debit card still inside.
She was reported missing on April 2 after failing to return home from a hike on the Mesquite Trail.
