Three siblings were among four victims killed in a head-on collision along an Imperial, Texas highway Wednesday.
The siblings’ Jeep crashed into a GMC Sierra on Farm to Market road 1053 and caught fire, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
All four occupants of the two vehicles died in the crash. They were later identified as the GMC Sierra driver, 48-year-old Gary Liles, and the three siblings, 18-year-old twins Jaden and Jackie Jurado, and 16-year-old Nautica.
A GoFundMe page said the siblings were the children of Ector County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Lt. Heather Perkins. They were returning home from a high school event.
Sheriff Mike Griffis said that the mother was among the first officers to respond to the tragic crash.
“It could be noted also that Heather was one of the first ones at the scene, and when she arrived the car was on fire,” he said.
“We just ask God for healing and comfort and wisdom in the coming days, weeks and month for the family of those children.”
