A Maryland man was taken into custody after he allegedly shot his stepson to death for not completing chores.
The shooting occurred just after midnight Wednesday at a residence on Huntt Road in La Plata, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said.
Responding deputies found Darshan Eric Williams outside the home, where his 15-year-old stepson laid unconscious and not breathing.

The victim was identified as Michael Edwards Clemons. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives learned that Williams shot the teen after becoming upset with him not finishing the household chores.
He now faces second-degree murder and first-degree assault charges.
