Alabama mother-of-8; baby killed in crash: ‘She made sure her children knew God’

An Alabama mother of eight and her 1-year-old son were killed in a tragic crash Tuesday morning.

Brandi D. Odell, 46, and baby Andrew died in the crash that occurred at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 411 near Pine Cone Road, authorities said.

The mother was taking her two children to daycare when her vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

Odell’s 3-year-old daughter Hope survived the accident.

  • “She was a Christian girl. She made sure her children knew God,” a friend said.

    The victim and her husband had five biological children. The couple adopted Odell’s brother’s three children.

    “She treated them all the same. She was a very hardworking mom who loved unconditionally.”

    “This is going to be a long, hard journey for the seven other children and for (Odell’s mother and husband) also,”

    “No donation is too small to help this family. Please pray for them all. Pray God brings comfort to them all.”
