Man kidnaps baby in Nebraska; leads police on chase across state lines before crashing, killing 2 teens in Missouri

Authorities in Missouri said that two teens were killed in a crash that ended a perilous chase of a kidnapping suspect across state lines on Sunday.

The suspect kidnapped a baby and a woman in Nebraska before dropping the woman at a hospital in Hamburg, Iowa.

The assaulted woman told Fremont County authorities that the suspect was an acquaintance and that he was “suicidal and homicidal.”

  • Iowa State Patrol troopers began a chase of the suspect’s 2023 Kia Sorento before being joined by Fremont County deputies as the suspect sped into traffic.

    The man crossed another state line into Missouri, where he collided with a 2013 Ford Focus on Interstate 29, killing its two 18-year-old occupants.

    The suspect was also killed in the crash. A Fremont County deputy rescued the baby from the burning wreck.

    Authorities said the baby suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to an Omaha hospital.
