Santa Clara news, California news.

A 14-year-old California boy took his own life earlier this month after enduring relentless bullying at his high school.

Jose Emiliano Zamora had just started his studies at Santa Clara High where he played in the junior varsity football team but was constantly bullied for being homeless.

The teen and his father Jose Bautista were evicted from their home earlier this year and Jose had been staying at a shelter, the grieving father said.

Jose was being treated for mental health issues before his Nov. 6 suicide.

The Santa Clara Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Gary Waddell said that some “serious disciplinary action” has been taken following an investigation involving the district and the police.

“To the extent that bullying played a factor [in Jose’s suicide], it is unacceptable. Even one instance is too many,” Waddell added.
