2 friends found dead inside garage from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning

Two teens were found dead inside a Chandler garage Tuesday and authorities are investigating whether the deaths resulted from a carbon monoxide poisoning.

Romeo Alvarez, 18, and Marcus Lee, 17, were found dead inside a car in the garage of an apartment complex.

Family said Alvarez left his home late Sunday to go to his friend’s home but never returned.

  • The pair was reported missing on Monday. They were tracked through cellphone location data.

    “If they were in that garage and hanging out listening to music and time goes by not having air, windows up maybe, who knows,” Alvarez’s cousin said.

    “Carbon monoxide can take you in minutes, maybe seconds.”
