Authorities in Oklahoma arrested a mother after learning that she gave her toddler daughter to a man dealing methamphetamine.

Ashley Rowland, 39, was arrested last week on child abandonment in connection to the incident that took place two years ago.

Rowland initially told the Oklahoma Department of Human Services that her missing daughter was “with her father in Georgia” when agents came looking for the girl in April 2023.

She said that she did not see the girl or the dealer again. She also stated that “Carlos” might be the girl’s father.

Rowland did not know the man’s last name and only provided a description adding that he might be in Mexico.
