5 arrested after toddler found naked, locked in cage in Kentucky

Authorities in Kentucky arrested five people after a naked toddler was discovered inside a cage earlier this week.

Carrollton Police officers made the shocking discovery at a home in the 700 block of 7th Street after receiving a tip about a boy locked in a cage.

The toddler was being held in a wooden and metal cage that had a padlock.

Two other children and a dozen neglected dogs were removed from the home where conditions were described as “unsanitary.”

  • “A child was behind there, completely unclothed,” said Detective Dave Roberts.

    “There was feces, and then you’re in that contained area.”

    Police arrested Brenda Chilton, 71, William Mahoney, 72, Codey Johnson, 29, Tammy Simmons, 52, and Shelby Turocy, 28.

    They all face charges of first-degree criminal abuse and wanton endangerment.

    Turocy faces additional counts of meth and drug possession.
