An Arkansas mother was arrested Saturday in connection to a July incident involving her 6-month-old baby.

19-year-old Ryanne Elizabeth Foster’s baby was brought to a hospital with “mixed bleeding on the right and left brain, micro-bruising on the front and back brain” in addition to multiple fractures.

“When I asked the doctor about what caused injuries like this in a 6-month-old child, I was told that it would have to be a very bad car accident or physical abuse,” Sgt. Bill Brown said.

“[The father] talked about Ryanne describing [the baby] as a sack of flour and that there was more emotional connection to their dog than [the] baby.”

When asked whether she had other children, Foster reportedly replied “I have a dog.”
