NY school paraprofessional arrested for sister’s murder

A New York middle school paraprofessional is accused of killing her older sister and dumping her body in a river earlier this week.

Penny Busch’s body was found in the Genesee River after an extensive search of her 8-acre property in the Village of Honeoye Falls.

The 61-year-old was last seen alive on October 6, at her home. Her body was positively identified on Friday.

  • “Investigators established significant evidence and probable cause to arrest her sister, Jamie Busch, for the murder of Penny Busch,” the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said.

    The 53-year-old suspect was a middle school paraprofessional with the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District.

    “Although we have never encountered a situation like this in our district, we are confident that, as a community, we will come together, support one another, and get through this difficult time,” Superintendent Gene Mancuso said.
