Richmond news, Texas news.

A Texas man accused of killing his wife earlier this week was found hanging from a tree on Friday, officials said.

Jhon Venegas Romero, 24, was wanted in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Anyi Montealegre Izquierdo.

Izquierdo was found fatally stabbed inside the couple’s mobile home in Richmond on Monday.

Family members told investigators that Romero spent his life living in the wilderness in his native Columbia and could survive for weeks in wooded areas.

“We are conducting a thorough review to ensure all procedures are followed and to rule out foul play, however, at this time, this appears to be a suicide,” Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan said.

The couple came to the US about a year ago to raise money for their 2-year-old toddler and family in Columbia.
