Carrollton news, Kentucky news.

A Kentucky woman and her three children were killed in a tragic house fire early Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to the blaze in the 200 block of 5th Street at around 5 a.m. and were at the scene within 6 minutes but found the home already engulfed in flames.

The only survivor was a 3-year-old girl found collapsed near the rear door of the burning residence.

“The officer was able to get in just enough in order to get the 3-year-old,” Carrollton Police Det. Dave Roberts said.

The structure eventually collapsed and crews with heavy equipment were brought to help recover the woman and her three children’s bodies from the rubble.

“Everyone is still reeling it in a bit,” a cousin said. “It just hasn’t sunk in yet because we know they are there in the structure.”

“Just no words. We love them. We love them very much,” Aunt Nettie Hearn added.
