Virginia Beach news, Virginia news.

The death of a Virginia man in police custody last summer was ruled a homicide, officials said.

Rolin Hill, 34, passed away at a hospital several days after he became combative and was restrained at the Virginia Beach jail.

Hill had been apprehended on trespassing, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct on June 4.

The Tidewater Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Hill died from "positional and mechanical asphyxia due to restraint with neck and torso compression".
