A beloved teacher was fatally shot by her retired NYPD detective husband who then took his own life Wednesday morning while their three sons were home.

Yonkers Police said Sean O’Neil, 54, and Arlene O’Neil, 47, got into an argument that ended with the tragic murder-suicide.

O’Neil reportedly shot Arlene “several” times across her body and then shot himself in the head moments later.

    Arlene worked as a teacher for over 25 years in the Eastchester School District and was remembered as a “fearless mother, a thoughtful sister, and a kind friend.”

    “Arlene exemplified strength, kindness, and resilience. She poured her heart into both her classroom and her home, always putting others before herself,” a memorial read.
