Louisiana girl, 17; DJ boyfriend found dead along highway in apparent murder-suicide

A Louisiana couple was found dead over the weekend along a highway in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide incident.

The bodies of Dashayla Ardoin, 17, and 21-year-old Glenkeithan Robertson, were discovered along an Acadia Parish highway at around 7 p.m. Saturday.

Both victims had gunshot wounds. Detectives believe the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide and that Robertson was the perpetrator.

“From the investigation, this case is believed to be a murder-suicide,” said the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

  • Detectives also believe that Ardoin and Robertson were on their way to Mamou High School, where the girl was enrolled, to attend homecoming festivities.

    Robertson was a local DJ and had recently posted a photo of him and Ardoin with the caption: “Me & You Against The World”.

    Mamou High School posted a tribute mourning Ardoin online.

    “Dashayla will always be remembered for her courage and bravery, her kind heart, and her beautiful smile,” the post reads in part.

    “She was so very loved and will be dearly missed.”
